Kevin C. Crown

Kevin earned two undergraduate degrees from Pepperdine University in Malibu before continuing his post-graduate studies at the University of California Santa Barbara School of Economics. Drawn to both real estate and finance, in 2006 Kevin founded Crown Enterprises, a Mortgage Brokerage firm; within a year he had spearheaded a successful merger with Clear Mortgage LLC. As the real estate market began its decline, Kevin recognized the profound need for education in all areas related to consumer finance. Determined to create an accessible source of economic information, he co-founded the Association of Financial Educators (AFE) in 2008. Since its inception AFE has partnered with corporations, organizations, and qualified financial professionals to offer their employees free training on topics ranging from avoiding financial pitfalls to wealth management. Kevin is proud to be a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and the National Ethics Association (NEA).
Brian P. McCarthy
Co-Founder and Vice President
Brian has worked in the financial services industry for over 15 years. In 2006 he moved from sales to the consulting side of the business, assisting more than 1,000 financial advisors and insurance agents with needs ranging from product recommendations to marketing support. During this time, Brian established a reputation as an expert in helping advisors reduce the overhead costs associated with marketing their services. In 2008 he co-founded AFE as he felt there was a big need in the financial industry to move away from specific products and focus more on educating our communities, building relationships, and helping families build financial stability. Brian is committed to establishing AFE as a permanent fixture in communities throughout the U.S. He is proud to be a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and the National Ethics Association (NEA).
